Not Just Mental Health but Health
Many people assume physical health takes precedence over mental health, or mental health takes precedence over physical health, so I made this to remind people of the difference between the two. With this poster, I wanted to remind people that what they see in front of them isn't always true, and what they consume in an American diet isn't always accurate. I wanted people to recognize fast-food store-bought ice cream and ingredients that may sometimes seem difficult to pronounce. We need to speak out. The majority of Americans don't eat a healthy diet and consume too much sodium, saturated fat, and sugar, which increases their risk of chronic diseases. Store-bought ice cream contains a variety of unhealthy ingredients. Not all ice cream is made with 100% ice cream ingredients, and some may contain additives like artificial colors and flavors or stabilizers. It is known that fast food can cause inflammation in the body, which can trigger asthma attacks. In my opinion, humans don't correlate food consumption with their emotions often enough. As a result, society would be able to do a lot better. On my poster, I drew a cheeseburger, a doughnut, and a stop sign. I also tried to appeal to people who are wise to colors. I specifically use red and blue, because, in my mind, it relates to cops or a force so with my stop sign, I plan to capture the viewer's eye. I also added some quotes that were big in size and interesting. In one of my quotes, I stated that 55% of adults with mental illness had not received treatment. As part of my poster, I also quoted the saying 'if you don't take care of yourself, you can't take care of others.' I made two sizes that were opposite of each other or reversed. To further prove my point that mental illness and physical health are two sides of the same coin or just as important. I truly believe that to feel good we must take time for ourselves because we cannot tackle everything that’s going on in the world. I plan to put my poster in front of the campus at Gsub. I am confident that this will catch people's attention. Originally, I had another idea, but I found this to be the most resonant; I researched as much as I integrated this work of art.

''Art is highly effective at translating events, facts, and ideologies into stories, images,
and performances, making objective things into subjective forms we can experience, feel, and, importantly, remember.''
-I totally agree with this statement.
Sometimes we’re asked, “what’s this artistic activism thing all about?” and “what’s the difference between artistic activism and regular activism?” or “why would I use artistic activism in my campaign?” As an answer, we offer this primer.
-This information played a great role in helping complete my assignment.
