THIS IS WHAT I KNOW ABOUT ART QUOTES:
-" I was depressed, burned-out, and I felt like I was failing in every direction. I'd had my heart broken for the first time that summer by my first girlfriend, and my grades were terrible."
I definitely relate to this quote a lot, I had just transferred to a new school because I lost my scholarship from my other school, and I felt like I let my parents down and felt like a complete failure to my family. I thought maybe it was for a good reason to transfer but I just keep getting reminded how I never thought I would end up here and for the reason why.
- "For so many young people of color, we feel like we don't have the luxury of exploring the liberal arts- society tells us that we have to take coursework to become high earners to make valuable contributions to the world."
This quote stood out to me because this is so true, and I thought the same way for a moment as well. What us as colored people and especially the ones in school, we have to understand that we can be successful in anything we want especially if we put our mind to it, there is not a specific subject that you have to take in order to be successful.
- "I began to realize there were so many dynamic black artists who worked as painters, photographers, and performers. There was a whole Black world that I knew almost nothing about."
I find this so sad because a lot of people do not know how talented black people are and do not see a lot of the work and masterpieces that they create. I feel as though museums should showcase more paintings and photographs created by black people so people can get used to those artist names like how we are with Vincent Van Gogh
This photo caught my attention because you do not see things like this often. This is a white cop writing black lives matter which shows not all cops are bad guys and some have a good heart and cares about one another no matter what color they are.
