Assignment #3

What is Art Activism ? Actions or campaigns that inspire movements that are created to bring attention to social issues.

" "I'm not political," is a phrase one hears often; but it is a rare person who doesn't identify with some form of creativity. We are all creative" (Pg.5)

This quote stood out to me in particular, because politics is part of our every day lives. After reading that page, it is clear that being political is not just about elections or votes for a new president or council. We become political when we vote for out favorite artist to win an award or when we share a link to raise money for school clubs. As a adult we advocate for better paying jobs and better ways of living

"Even today totalitarians governments restrict access to information, ban books and artworks, and repress intellectuals, activists, and artist fearful of any ideas that might challenge their official truth."  (Pg.23)

Reading the quote reminded me of a book that I read my freshmen year of high school, it was called fahrenheit 45, and it was basically about a dystopian society that has banned books because they were educated people way too much and if I remember well I believe that the main character is trying to undo all that by re-introducing books. Although I read that book in 2016, where technology was almost at its peak, looking back on it today, the book is coming to life.

Example of Art Activism
