Chapter 3
"The civil rights movement would have been inconceivable without its foundation within black churches. This network of institutions supplied organization and leadership for the movement. As is well known. (103)
This shows how churches can also become a performance where they use their own music to make it as a civil rights movement. Because I can do see that it's a cultural art which also mentions that during sundays the black churches mostly uses their own performance as making it their own culture and also making their own creation for their own civil rights movement. Which in the black chruches no one is being controlled by anyone of any race and it's very interesting that in the black churches they don't use any type of violence for their own performance.
"Problems are often hard to see. Racist Violence frequently happens in back alleys and after the sun goes down. Economic inequality is often the result of abstract forces. Ecological degradation takes place over long periods of time."
Looking at this made me realize during the civil rights movement it shows how many violence were there. Between the whites and black how they showed violence to each other and how the whites gets advantages between the blacks for not obeying their own rules which also does show how different was history and how we are today which mostly things can be normal and sometimes things can be different like there is still violence going on in this world.
Chapter 4
"Sometimes even what we take to be negative aspects of pop culture contain positive lessons, for instance, that pop cultures provide many with a comforting escape. Since our goal as artistic activists is to help people engage with the world, "escapism" is often thought of negatively". (156)
Looking at this quote looks like how can and also show how can designs can try to be into stories. But also how can artistic activist be someone else and show how can negative aspects be effected. But also how can movies be affected into a activism art and show how can a honest art be shown from a movie. Which it can be affected to audience which also seeing how can movies be more affected which you can look in the dark knight movies which mostly be a dark material and show how can audience can see how can a dark knight movie be a interested superhero movie. That shows justice in dark material.
"As individuals, we all have our own likes and dislikes when it comes to culture, and this is all well and good. But as artistic activists, we have to be attuned to what other people, particularly those who are not artist or activists, are interested in - not what we think they should like, but what they actually do like in today's complicated and compromised world." (158)
Sometimes learning culture can be a little bit tough where it shows that you need to learn how our other people in their culture like their language and understanding them. Because sometimes people with different type of cultures does show how can it be a little bit tough to see how they show in their culture. But this shows how can artist activist can try to see what they can understand about different people's culture and see what challenges can be approached.

Black Square by Kazimer Malevich |
This is one artwork inspired by Kazimer Malevich, which only shows a simply color. Which people thought this artwork is message that Kazimer is sending. But also people were confused to see this because some of them think that it's either just a message or just a blank photo. But Kazimer made this as a symbol for church because mostly churches just use their own power through art. Which in my thoughts it does seem interested and I'll ask myself why is just a simply color and mainly my opinion will be that it justs a simply color in the design and there has be a reason behind this. But this could be understandable that the artists might shows this as a message for civil rights because of after everything what happened during that time. Or it can be something that is related to the artists culture which can be a message for somebody.
